  • Overview

    This is a senior technical role that is part of the SolarWinds Japan sales team. The primary focus of this role would be to provide expert technical assistance during the sales process. This includes product demonstrations, presentations, expert guidance during proof-of-concepts, and support all go-to-market strategies.

    Responsibilities

    • Recommend appropriate SolarWinds solutions that solve IT monitoring & management challenges
    • Articulate the capabilities and value proposition of SolarWinds solutions
    • Provide expert guidance during proof-of-concept and proof-of-value engagements
    • Provide best practices on design and architecture
    • Understand the latest competitive landscape
    • Provide regular customer feedback to the product management team
    • Educate channel partners on the latest SolarWinds offerings
    • Raise awareness of SolarWinds via webinars and speaking engagements

    Qualifications

    • Strong oral and written business communication skills in Japanese
    • Good oral and written business communication skills in English
    • Excellent presentation skills.
    • Strong experience in presenting in person (one to one & group settings), on stage, webcasts, or phone
    • Excellent technical and customer interaction skills
    • 10+ years of experience in a similar pre-sales role with a software vendor or a systems integrator
    • Strong troubleshooting skills
    • Strong knowledge of network fundamentals, switching and routing
    • Good knowledge of Windows Server 2012/2016 OS and Windows based applications

    Preferences:

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant Business or Computing discipline
    • IT management roles such as network administrator or systems administrator
    • Cisco or Microsoft certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, and MCSE
    • Administration of network & systems monitoring & management software
    • Setup and administration of Windows Server 2012/2016
    • Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Windows based applications
    • Understanding of management protocols such as SNMP, Syslog, and WMI
    • Scripting and Linux/Unix experience
    • Basic-intermediate level of experience with MS SQL
    • Broad understanding of IT infrastructure and applications – networking, virtualization, storage, public cloud, databases, etc
