The Senior Technical Trainer is highly proficient in technical training content design and development, while demonstrating expert-level knowledge in network and server administration and management.
Designs and develops IT related technical training content for face-to-face and virtual training delivery methods. The content includes facilitator’s guides, participant’s guides, lab guides and visual aids such as slide decks and demo environments.
Designs and develops interactive and engaging IT related e-learning content
Apply ADDIE and/or Successive Approximation model in instructional design
Performs needs assessment and audience analysis activities to determine performance gaps and identify opportunities, priorities, and recommended training interventions
Act as a member of a content review board in order to keep content current
Contributes to defining and refining training content development processes.
Mentors new trainers and supports other members of the technical education organization as needed
Works independently with some supervision and direction; receives minimal instruction or supervision on routine work assignments.
May be the primary contact during various content development projects.
Acquire strong technical proficiency in two or more SolarWinds software products in order to break down technical concepts that will aid the development of conceptual graphics, textual content, labs and other aspects of technical course design
Interacts frequently inter-organizationally and represents the education organization on projects.
Provides instructor readiness support.
Works closely with engineering, product management, support, and other subject matter experts.
Develops a trusting partnership with customers and stakeholders.
Advanced network and/or server administration and troubleshooting skills.
Proficient in e-learning authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate or Articulate Storyline
Technical expertise in one or more of the following: Windows Server, Linux, MS SQL, Cisco IOS, VMWare, Hyper-V
Takes initiative to investigate new technologies and approaches to troubleshooting technology.
Uses analytical and troubleshooting skills to solve issues.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
At least 3 years of experience as Content Developer or Instructional Designer with emphasis on e-learning design and development
At least 3 years of previous experience working with networks and/or servers as Technical Support, Helpdesk or back office
Experience with Adobe Captivate or Articulate Storyline
